Alpinism and Free Climbing – Paklenica National Park (UNESCO, 1978)
The region of National Park Paklenica represents one of the most attractive natural-science and tourist resorts in northeast Mediterranean. The grandiose gorge surrounded by harsh mountain cliffs, distant peaks of Velebit and old pine and beech forests is a chalenge for each and every nature lover, schientist and climber. This is the place where we can find a wide variety of flora and fauna some of which are very rare and endemic. This area is especially characterised by its variety of karstic formations. The nearby seaside and coastal atmosphere only add up to the beauty of this park.
The very entrance to the park where harsh mountain clifts almost menacingly overarch a visitor, makes it clear why the biggest, the most famous, and the most beautiful Croatian climbing site is located right at this spot. This is the place where anyone can find something for himself. We can climb sports, short routes, but we can also climb those that are far longer. This is the place that can satisfy even the adventure routes lovers. Range of difficulty levels is such that absolute beginners, as well as the experienced climbers can enjoy this place. All that characterizes Paklenica as a climbing site, that was pointed out in the text above is proved by an increase in number of climbers fromm all over the Europe...

Hiking and Cycling
Hiking is the only way of really getting to know Paklenica. 150 kilometres of paths will give you an insight to the area’s history and traditional way of life, leading you through beautiful scenery featuring old mountain houses, medieval church of St. Peter, Većka tower and Paklarić fortification dating from Ottoman Empire times, Mirila – historic tombstones, and many other sights.

Caving
Paklenica’s limestone and dolomite rocks are abundant in Karst forms, such as karst valleys, pits and caves.
Manita peć (Manita cave) and Vodarica pit are the largest and the richest in ornaments (dripstones). Outside the national park borders there are also a number of very attractive caves as, for example, Cerovačke caves and Modrić cave.

Rafting and Canoeing
Adrenaline lovers are already familiar with the magical Zrmanja River, a karst beauty which is available for rafting almost throughout the whole year. You can also indulge your adventurous spirit and go down the river in a canoe.

Kite and Windsurfing
This is definitely the right place to test your windsurfing and kite skills.
The area is extremely well positioned as far as winds and currents are concerned, no matter if you do free ride, free style, race, slalom or some other discipline.

Diving
Discover the charms of submarine world through a number of very attractive locations that will surely fill you with admiration. In our vicinity you will also find SSI, CMAS, and PADI diving school, have an opportunity to take part in organized diving excursions or rent out diving equipment.

Jet Ski, Parasailing, Waterskiing
In the hotel’s vicinity there are facilities where you can rent a Jet Ski, enjoy in waterskiing and various other beach activities that will make your stay here more fun.
Sailing along the Podvelebitski Channel aboard Private Hotel Anđelko’s Boat
We also provide a boat which is at your disposal for individually exploring the area during one-day trips. Enjoy the peace and quiet on one of many beaches and coves where you can hear only the whispering of the sea, sand and seagulls, far away from the automobile noise. We guarantee you an unforgivable experience.

Organized Cruises along the Podvelebitski Channel
Going on an organized cruise along the channel (organized almost on daily bases during the summer season) represents a wonderful opportunity for visiting the nearby picturesque Dalmatian fishermen towns of Vinjerac and Novigrad, Maslenica Bridge, Novigrad Sea, and Zrmanja River canyon (one of the locations in which Winnetou, a film based on the novel by Karl May, was filmed).

Krka National Park
River Krka’s seven cascading waterfalls (Krčić, Bilušić, Brljan, Manojlovac, Rošnjak, Miljacka, Roški slap and Skradinski buk) are the park’s main phenomenon, and served as grounds for declaring the area a national park in 1985.

Plitvička jezera National Park

The Park is a well-forested mountain region featuring a sequence of 16 beautiful turquoise lakes. Numerous little rivers and streams supply them with water, while sparkling cascades and roaring downpours connect them into a whole. Outstanding natural beauty of the cascading lakes, rich flora and fauna, colour contrasts in autumn, magical motifs in winter, forests and fresh mountain air attract a great number of visitors. Each visit represents a unique experience of nature’s strength and beauty.

Kornati National Park
Kornati islands are the densest archipelago in the Mediterranean. A group of 89 exquisitely beautiful, well-indented islands with interesting geomorphology and extremely abundant marine ecosystem habitats was declared a national park in 1980. Kornati islands are a paradise for boaters, divers and others who know how to enjoy the isolated, intact, magnificent archipelago’s nature.

Sjeverni Velebit National Park
Extraordinary Karst forms, life forms and landscape diversity in a relatively small space were the main reason why this area was declared a national park. Just like Paklenica, this region is the right place for those who enjoy wild nature.

Risnjak National Park
The park is situated in Gorski Kotar region, the most forested area in western Croatia. It is in close proximity of the Adriatic Sea, only 15 km northeast of Rijeka and Kvarner Bay. It takes about an hour and a half to walk around Leska, a 3.8 kilometres long educational pathway built 690 meters above sea-level, and visit 12 marked natural and social phenomena: a forest, a Karst feature called sink-hole, a mountain meadow, beech and fir-tree forest, a feeding place for wild animals, an underground stream hole, an observation post, a live tree-stump, a deer fern and fir forest, a traditional homestead and a spring.

Velebit Nature Park
Velebit – 'The Grand Mountain' – surely deserves the name it was given. It is the largest mountain in the country and, since it was declared a nature park in 1981, the largest protected natural area in Croatia. In 1978.UNESCO declared Velebit a world’s biosphere reserve. Two national parks (Paklenica and Sjeverni Velebit), flora and fauna diversity, and a significant number of endemic species are a proof of its unique value.

Telašćica Nature Park
Telašćica Cove is situated in the central part the eastern Adriatic coast, in the south-eastern part of the Dugi Otok Island. Thanks to its exquisite beauty, natural abundance and richness, this cove, surrounded by 13 isles and having 6 isles within it, was declared a nature park in 1988. On account of its extraordinary flora and fauna, geological and geomorphologic features, valuable marine species habitats, and interesting archaeological findings, in 1980 Telašćica was awarded a protected nature area status.

Vransko Jezero Nature Park
Vransko Jezero Lake is an unusual compromise between land and water, providing shelter for various plant and animal species and offering them all life necessities. Overgrown in grass, sedge, bull-rush and cane, the lake resembles a meadow criss-crossed by shallow ponds and covered with colourful flowers. Multitude of butterflies, dragon-flies and other insects is favourable for birds that dwell on the lake and in the park area throughout all year. Hidden in the thick cane birdwatchers can have an unforgettable experience of watching birds live, nest and take care of their offspring. The park is inhabited by 241 bird species, of which 102 species nest within the park’s limits.
