About Kruševo:
On the territory of Kruševo there was a Roman settlement, and in the Middle Ages there was the citadel Otišina of the dukes of Krbava.The citadel came under Turkish possession in 1527.The Turks fortified it, and in the year 1647 it was conquered by duke Francis. During the Turkish government that region was pastorized by the Franciscans from Visovac, and in 1731 the parish Kruševo descended to the restored convent in Karin. Until 1830 the parish belonged to the Diocese of Nin, and after that to the Diocese of Zadar, except in the time between 1918 and 1945 when this region was ruled by the administrator-the Bishop of Šibenik. The parish consists of six settlements: Bukovac, Drage, Karlovac, Kobljane, Orljak, Otišina, Podgreda.
The St. George Church in the middle of the village was built around 1700. In time it completely fell to ruins, and only ruined walls remained of it. In the year 1845 a new church was built on the north side of the old church, also in honour of St. George. The church was restored several times, and in 1977 it was completely repaired.
During the Croatian War for Independence the church was mined by the rebel Serbs and demolished together wit the bell-tower.
After the liberation of Kruševo in 1995, the building of the new church began in 1996 on the same place where the old church stood.
